tree hat women. great pic of hard work. want some symbolism? something like, these women's individual beauty had been replaced with the hard work, so that they finally emerged with the branches? that's what i feel looking at. how sad.

@trilliana: Ok, here's my take: the tough life that these women endure squeezes them dry and they're sapped, but they put on a tough exterior to take on the challenges that come their way, like the rough edges of the dried branches. Ok, more imagery than symbolism perhaps. :)

Beautiful! I love these women with twigs for heads, but your title says it all. The way the image stacks into the distance is a wonderful composition. Really wonderful bw.

. .what an engaging scene here! nicely shot and effective in B/W. .. as a side note, I've got personal experience carrying bunches of twigs and can attest to the ease of carrying them on my head versus in my arms.
